CBB Clinch League Title Again

This season's title race was another close one. Four teams had a shot going into Sunday's game. But, again, it was Chico's Bail Bonds that came out on top.

CBB defeated Hawks (3-2) in a hard fought game to become Summer 2010 League Champions. Their second title in as many seasons.

Berry Park shut out the Wild Turkeys (3-0) to take second place, finishing just one point behind CBB.

Scousers beat FC Headers in a tight 2-1 match to take third place.

* Rule Adjustment on Slide Tackling

Rule Adjustment on Slide Tackling

In order to make WSP leagues safer, we've just tweaked our rule on slide tackling and are introducing a rule on shot blocking (when players go to ground in the process).

If you make a play for the ball by going to ground when a player is within a few yards of you, it's the referees discretion to give you a yellow. And if you make any contact with an opposition player, when it's clear you've gone to ground by design, then you could find yourself with a red card.

Still Open Season at the Midway Mark

WSP's second season at The Inlet has just passed its halfway point, with everything still to play for. At the top of the table, it's no surprise to see the perennial FC Headers; whilst at the bottom, AC Kermans have managed to threaten the opposition in each game. And in-between these two teams, there are six that can still reach the summit by the season's end.

Here's a team-by-team summary of events thus far. (Match reports will likely follow all remaining games.)

Fast Starts and Early Trips in Summer Season Opener

The first day of the Summer season saw three of the four top flight teams from last season win their matches, while the least expected to trip up was last season's League and Cup champions, Chico's Bail Bonds. Taking Chico's place in the top four was the league's latest team, Berry Park - comprising half of the old Bangarang as well as a handful of free agents.
