BIP's Golden Boot Champion
Brooklyn, NY - August 29, 2010
The Scousers' captain, Neil C., won WSP's Summer Golden Boot award in the hotly contested Bushwick Inlet Park league.
The northern English midfielder had the scoring lead from game 1 to game 6, when two Berry Park forwards displaced him. But Neil's final performance of the regular season and his four point night in the first leg of the Cup ties reunited him with the number one spot.
Neil is much more than a goal scorer. He often creates the opportunities for people to make the passes which he then slots into the net. You could thus say that he assists on many of his own goals. He also makes smart, timely passes that have resulted in several of his teammates making it into the top ten on the charts.
Neil is a complete player whose defensive attributes are a major reason why he does well offensively. He stifles opposition attacks with a firm commitment to backtracking. He's probably the league's best pickpocket. And he holds the ball with the best of them, allowing his fellow Scousers crucial space.
Well done captain!
